What is Ultherapy?

BEAUTY AND HEALTH. What is Ultherapy?

As women age, I frequently hear complaints about sagging skin, lines and wrinkles, and the changes that occur south of the chin. The smooth, taut skin of youth has changed and we begin to lose the crisp, clean jawline of our mid-twenties. The good news is that we live in an age where natural results can be achieved without “going under the knife”. Today’s solution for the modern woman is one of my favorite technologies, known as Ultherapy.

Whether you are seeking an alternative to a face or neck lift, an adjunct procedure to your current cosmetic surgery, or are simply a young person who wants to “stay ahead of the game”, my patients consider Ultherapy the “go to” tool in their beauty arsenal.

How Does Ultherapy Work?

During the intrinsic aging process, skin loses much of the collagen necessary for plump, firm, and youthful skin. Additionally, poor health choices made over time, such as excessive sun exposure further accelerate the aging process. Eventually, all these factors can contribute to an aging appearance, including sagging skin around the cheek and jawline, a double chin commonly known as “turkey neck”, and droopy eyebrows and eyelids, which detracts from a pleasing, youthful look.

A drooping dermis may be an inevitable part of aging, but it doesn’t have to be a permanent fixture of one’s appearance thanks to the advances in anti-aging technologies such as Ultherapy. Ultherapy, is a non-surgical FDA-approved procedure that tightens and lifts the skin around the neck, chin, eye and upper chest (décolleté). Ultherapy works by stimulating the structural support layers of the skin using focused ultrasound energy. This results in a gradual growth of new collagen that gives you back that firm, lifted youthful appearance. Unlike an invasive surgical face-lift, there is NO downtime with Ulthera as you can return to work and/or your regular activities the same day.
