I love being in the sun just as much as anyone, but we do have to remain conscious of the harmful effects of the sun. To “play it safe in the sun”, it is best to avoid the sun between the peak hours of 10 AM and 4 PM; wear protective clothing, hats, UV-blocking sunglasses, sweat resistant sun screen… and be careful to cover the often missed but exposed spots like ears, hands, and the back of the neck.
Let’s let go of the idea that the sun gives us a “healthy glow” as the “glow” produced by unprotected skin exposure is not “healthy”. Using common sense guidelines, and sun protection products, we can enjoy the many benefits of the sun and still maintain beautiful, healthy skin into the future.
